Rutz feat. Theresa Breuer

Some wineries are inherited; others must be earned. Theresa Breuer has done both. In 2004, following the untimely death of her father Bernhard—one of the pioneers of dry German Riesling—she took over the Georg Breuer winery in Rüdesheim.

Today, she has long since put her own stamp on it: Riesling from the steep slopes of the Rüdesheim Mountains, with slate and quartzite soils, spontaneously fermented and aged without haste. These are wines that start out cool and reserved, unfolding their greatness over the years. On this evening, she’ll be bringing them to the Rutz—and will be there in person.
